Shift Details: Weekend and evenings are required, potential for a 4 day week

The Sous chef will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the kitchens in the absence of the Head Chef; meeting the high standards required for food hygiene and food safety.
The quality of food and professionalism of the team is essential, and you will have a key role in supporting the Head Chef to ensure the kitchen runs smoothly.
Working with the Head chef and supporting them in their role and overseeing the operation of the kitchens in their absence.
To ensure that all areas under your control satisfy the most stringent hygiene requirements.
To ensure that all stocks are ordered to the correct quantities, quality and purchase specifications and stored correctly.
To cook consistently and enthusiastically on a high level.
Cooking and preparing for each service and function.
To enthusiastically give input where required into menu and product development.
Attend training courses both internal and external as and when required.
To follows the company’s food safety policy.
To ensure all kitchen food records are completed on shift as appropriate to the record.
To have a guest oriented approach to your work with a can do attitude.
To supervise junior chefs and other members of the kitchen staff
To monitor the quality of the banquet meal/restaurant food service during the event.
Being accountable for food stock and kitchen equipment
Maintain highest standards of smartness, personal hygiene and cleanliness.
The ideal candidate should:
Have fun cooking and love their job and be a sociable chef who likes working in a small team.
Have excellent communication skills both written and oral and organisational skills.
Work well under pressure.
Have good attention to detail.
Please note that due to our location a full driving license is recommended.
