Mix of straight shifts
During service, welcome and look after a section of tables in the restaurant or a private group upstairs.
Understand our ethos, menus, ingredients, cocktails, soft drinks and by the glass wine list and be able to make succinct recommendations to guests at the table. Be able to present the dishes and drinks at the table with passionate and enthusiastic descriptions.
Help the team with the presentation of the restaurant and grounds before service and closing down of the restaurant at the end of the day
Be flexible to work in a small team with a wide range of aspects to the role.
Opportunities for development within the business
Prepare the house cocktail list to a high standard, as well as making suggestions for changes to the cocktail list
Coordinate service of wine pairings with the tasting menu, including planning the pairings with the GM
Stock control on all products behind the bar
Stock take with GM
Cellar management – orders/organisation/keeping the cellars pristine in case of guest viewing
Learn the wine list and be able to make recommendations to guests based on their preferences, budgets and what they are eating.
Preparation of tea and coffee to a high standard, knowing our list and being able to recommend to guests
Be able to step away from the bar on regular occasions to help on the restaurant floor
