In prime position on a delightful village green near the river, this 16th-century inn has spacious public areas with open fires, uneven floors, beams and wood furnishings.
The comfortable 1AA Rosette restaurant offers an excellent dining experience serving top-quality, locally sourced food.
The bedrooms have been creatively decorated and well furnished; some rooms of which are in a converted annexe.
This venue has won Gloucestershire dining pub of the year for the last 2 years, national pub of the year 2018 and national inn of the year 2020 – good pub guide.
Role and Responsibilities
As Junior Sous Chef you will be required to help run the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef, ensuring the smooth running of the Restaurant.
You will be working with good, fresh locally sourced produce and will assist in maintaining the consistent high standards.
You will be a key part of driving the business forward with the aim of pushing for the 2nd AA Rosette.
The shift patters are usually 5 splits, sometimes 4 splits and 1 straight. Approximately 50 hours per week with 28 days holiday.
Candidate Requirements
The ideal Junior Sous Chef will be ambitious, take great pride in their work, be able to work well as part of a team with the ability to cope well under pressure, consistently working to a high standard.
1AA / 2AA Rosette experience would be ideal, however this is not vital. If you have a great attitude with a good fresh food background, this would put you in good position for this role!
