Situated in the beautiful village of Fonthill Bishop, taking full advantage of links with The Fonthill and Islay Estates, the property has its own vegetable garden, estate reared cattle, sheep from Islay and game from Fonthill.
A newly opened venue with big plans for the future, establishing itself as a local treasure where people can come and enjoy a variety of mouth-watering dishes and relax in beautiful surroundings!
There are great public transport links with a bus stop just outside the property itself. and also, a train station within a comfortable walk.
The restaurant on average serves around 40 covers on average peaking at times to around 60 and at quieter times seeing around 20 for a lunch. Breakfast is served to guests.
Role and Responsibilities
There will be the option in the future to take on further training with Chef, looking into new options such as smoking and making in house cured meats etc.
There is plans to build more on-site accommodation, the business is expanding, they will have a small shop and butchers and are also looking to provide a cookery school in the future.
Mondays are off each week, and also one other day. which is a great option for some consistency, following on there will be split shifts starting around 8am breaking at around 3, and then back in from 5:30 tillclose and the last person out is usually done by 10:30-11pm
Thursdays tend to be the busiest day with prepping for the weekend. Tuesday and Sundays the property closes at 5:30pm.
Candidate Requirements
This is the perfect opportunity for a Chef de Partie looking to work with good, fresh, locally sourced food in a growing and expanding business that is focused on putting smiles on faces and providing an amazing customer experience!
Working with a small team, the ideal Chef de Partie will be passionate with ambition to be part of a growing business with great future prospects.
With great ability expected, a bit of flare and finesse is always welcomed, efficient and effective, good with time management and organisation. We are not looking to push for AA Rosettes, but the standards would surpass an easy 1AA Rosette standard. All food is locally sourced from a stone through radius.
