Previously a farm that has been converted into a stylish boutique hotel with touches of laid-back luxury, there are 20 rooms, cottages, suites and a 2AA Rosette restaurant.
This vibrant property has been awarded The Good Hotel's Guide Country Hotel of the Year 2019, as well as previous Sawday's Hotel of the Year and Taste of the West’s Hotel of the Year.
They have also recently received 9 out of 10 from the Telegraph.
The restaurant has retained 2AA Rosettes for over 10 years.
The venue is small, usually up to 40 covers on a full evening and with a bright future ahead, the team will be looking to push for 3AA Rosettes.
Located in Clearwell, in the heart of the Royal Forest of Dean and Wye Valley, this stunning property is set amongst beautiful surroundings and is a perfect get away for visitors.
The brigade consists of 4 Chefs, plus a breakfast chef, who are all very passionate about producing their awarding winning menus utilizing locally sourced ingredients.
Role and Responsibilities
Work closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef
Manage the day-to-day running of the kitchen
Assist in menu planning
Oversee junior members of the team
Working 5 days on, 2 days off with a mixture of splits and straight shifts
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years’ previous experience within a quality establishment, preferably at 2AA Rosette level with a keen passion to progress
This would suit an experienced Chef de Partie looking for a fresh challenge, or a Commis Chef looking to make the next step
The ideal Chef de Partie will preferably drive and have their own car as public transport is not too frequent in this area
We are looking for a team player that can work well under pressure and is ambitious and passionate
